Capoeira

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwG7JwXtUSI

So I may have told some of you but for the last 5 weeks I have been taking a capoeira class through the wellness program at UK. Capoeria is a Brazilian martial arts/dance.

This is about as far out of my comfort zone as you can get but I thought I would give it a try. It is truly a hard workout and I am usually sore for three days afterward.

One of Simon's preschool teachers performs regularly and talks to the children about it so in turn I had heard a great deal. She has been to Brazil twice to perform. Any how when the class was offered at UK, I thought why not. I can laugh at myself as we go along.

Attached is a you tube video of a girl that is unbelievable at it.

A fun filled weekend

Soccer season began Saturday for Simon. Same team as last fall, the Rockets. I can see a change in Simon already. He is much more into the game this spring.
Keeneland

Up close with the ponies! Sarah loved watching them when they raced by.

A Saturday morning tradition at Keeneland is breakfast with the works. It is an opportunity to see the horses train in the morning before racing begins and they have children's activities as well. It was a dreary Saturday morning but those horses are so beautiful to watch.

Simon and Joseph went fishing on Friday afternoon. Simon managed to catch about 8 fish. He is very proud.

I think she likes it!

We are trying to introduce more and more "real" food to Sarah to get away from baby food. I think spaghetti is now at the top of her list. She insisted on holding the spoon the entire time she ate but never once used it.

Thanks Melissa and Shane for the Hospitality

A morning at Lamb's Farm
Dinner at Rainforest Cafe. Simon and Melissa did not like the simulated thunderstorm. They both jumped at the same time.

Sarah loved the chicks.

We decided to head up to the Chicago area for spring break with Melissa and Shane. It is usually not the best time of year there for weather, but we lucked out.

We had a great time except for the car ride. Sarah absolutely hates the car after about 30 minutes. It was quite trying at times to listen to her scream and reach for you to pick her up and her not understanding why we can't.
