Another soccer season comes to a close

Today was Sarah's last soccer game of the season. I enjoyed coaching her team overall. It had it's challenges at times but it was all worth it. It was especially great that two of my dearest friends daughters were on the team. With the three of them so close in age, I talked about them playing together for a long time.

Silas is 9 months old

I have been very diligent to take Silas to have his pictures done as often as I did for Simon and Sarah. Today was his appointment for his 9 month pictures. He did great!

Sarah starts soccer

I am thrilled to be coaching Sarah's first soccer team. It is going to be especially fun since two of my best friends little girls are playing on the team as well. Here is a picture from the first practice tonight.

Back to school

School is back in session and we are getting back into the swing of things. Silas has taken looong naps enjoy in the quite house and is ready to play when his big brother and sister get home from school.

Kings Island

We made a trip to Kings Island last Saturday for UK alumni/staff/faculty day. Melissa, Shane, and the twins joined us as well. Everyone had a great time and Silas was such a good sport. He made it through the long day stealing cat naps throughout the day in his stroller and enjoying the sights and sounds.

5 months old

I don't know if it is because he is the third child but time is flying so fast. It seems only yesterday it was New Years's Eve and we first met our precious boy!

Last day of school

It is hard to believe another school year has come to a close. Simon and Sarah will come home a second grader and PK-4 student respectfully.

4 months old-Long and lean

Silas may have started out of the gate bigger than most, but at his recent 4 month checkup we found his is off the charts with in height but only 25th percentile with weight. If only we were all so lucky.

Height: 26 1/2 inches

Weight: 13 pounds 15 ounces

Head circumference: 42 cm.

Silas is a child of God

Thanks to all that joined us in body and in spirit as we celebrated Silas' baptism.

Who's who?

Joseph and I can't believe how much Simon and Silas look alike. I was looking through Simon's old picture and decided to post to see if you can tell which one is which.

Our first girl turns 10 years old

Maggie, our first girl, is 10 years old today. She is starting to show her age with her gray face but she often still has the energy of a puppy. We love you Maggie!

A note for the tooth fairy

Simon lost another tooth and left this note for the tooth fairy. Good questions, I think.

9 weeks old today!

Silas is 9 weeks old today and he went for his 2 month check up and vaccines. Dr. Latham took one look at him and said, wow, he is a healthy boy. He is measuring more like an average 4 month old. Here are the stats:

24 1/4 inches

12 pounds 15 ounces

Sibling Rivalry

Simon and Sarah are like typical siblings in that one minute that are bugging each other, trying to get the other in trouble, and so on. They also can be very sweet together. Last night Sarah was scared bacause of the thunderstorms and we found Sarah in Simon's bed, both sleeping peacefully.

Pinewood Derby!

One of the highlights of being a Cub Scout is the annual pinewood derby. Simon did not win but he had a great time with his fellow scouts racing his car.

A new addition to the school. Each student last year had the opportunity to do a self portrait tile to be added to this cross. It was finally completed and put up last week.

Simon's tile. He artwork has dramatically improved from early kindergarten but I am glad his tile was included.

The twins turn 2!

We celebrated my nephew Andrew and Nathan's second birthday yesterday. They enjoyed they Mickey Mouse themed birthday party surrounded by family and friends.

Every kid has done it

Simon decided to cut his hair today at school. This picture really doesn't do it justice because he also cut his hair on one side as well. A trip to the barber should fix it tomorrow. It is much easier when boys do this than girls!

Happy 4th Birthday, Sarah!

It is hard to believe our baby girl is 4 years old. We spent today at the Explorium celebrating her birthday with family and friends.





Grandma S. was not feeling well so Aunt Melissa stepped up to the plate and made Sarah's cake. This was her first time decorating a cake and I think it looks terrific!
