Star Wars day

Last weekend Joseph Beth had its annual Star Wars day. Joseph and Simon enjoyed the morning while Sarah went to Toy Story day at Meijer.

Sarah is very proud of the tomatoes that she has grown. She has made sure that they stayed watered and got plenty of sun. After picking the ripe grapes she ate about half of her harvest.

Two weeks ago, Joseph, Simon, Sarah and I joined my sister Melissa and her family, my parents, and my brother Mike and his wife Janet for a few days in Tennessee. We were sad that my brother David couldn't be with us...maybe next year.

Last Saturday was baby Alec's baptism. I was honored and thrilled to be chosen as his Godmother.

Goodbye Kindergarten, hello first grade

It is hard to believe the school year is over and Simon is now a first grader. It is amazing how much the grow and learn in one year. He has become quite the reader and loves math (Joseph and I are not sure where he gets that from!)

not just another day at work

Saturday I had the privilege of working at the Rolex Kentucky. For those not familiar with this event, it is the only four star three day equestrian event in Kentucky. http://www.rk3de.org/

The UK emergency department is contracted to provide emergency services at this annual event. On Saturday, that included having an nurse or paramedic at each of the 29 jumps over the 4 mile cross country course. Luckily, there were no falls at my jump and no serious injuries at any of the jumps.

I am looking forward to working the World Equestrian Games in October!

We had an amazing trip to Disney World. We left after school on Friday, drove to Atlanta then drove the rest of the way the next day. We spent a full week taking in all that Disney has to offer. Joseph and I had only been once before when we were teenagers so we were excited to return as well. I understand now what Disney means when they say the magic of Disney World. Everything was perfect.
