Happy Birthday Kaylee!

Sarah is ready for cake!

Simon right in the middle of the present action.

Kaylee loved the yummy cake.

All partied out.

We hosted Kaylee's first birthday party at our house today. Stacy and Bo put their house up on the market two weeks ago and I invited them to have the party at our house so they would not have to worry about having 30 people at their house and a realtor call and want to show the house. You never want to say no to someone when they are interested in looking at your house.

Good luck Ms. Cecily

At Simon's school on Friday, they had a dance-a-thon to raise money for his teacher who is leaving to work at a school in Africa. Simon will miss her a great deal.

It is finally done!

I received word this afternoon that my Master in Nursing Comprehensive exam was approved by the review committee. I finally have my degree which I began working on in 1999. I completed my course work 3 years ago and did not pass the comp exam at that time. This was such a blow to me and I just couldn't face the rejection again so I kept putting it off (You only have two chances to pass it.)

I began working on it night and day about three weeks ago and I can say now, it was all worth it.

I will never forget Dana and Stacy for watching Simon while I went to class while Joseph was in Iraq. This was truly an unforgettable gift and I can never thank you both enough.

Anyway, no one can be happier than Joseph. He saw a side of me this weekend I hope to never show again...Stress is a horrible thing.

Capoeira

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwG7JwXtUSI

So I may have told some of you but for the last 5 weeks I have been taking a capoeira class through the wellness program at UK. Capoeria is a Brazilian martial arts/dance.

This is about as far out of my comfort zone as you can get but I thought I would give it a try. It is truly a hard workout and I am usually sore for three days afterward.

One of Simon's preschool teachers performs regularly and talks to the children about it so in turn I had heard a great deal. She has been to Brazil twice to perform. Any how when the class was offered at UK, I thought why not. I can laugh at myself as we go along.

Attached is a you tube video of a girl that is unbelievable at it.

A fun filled weekend

Soccer season began Saturday for Simon. Same team as last fall, the Rockets. I can see a change in Simon already. He is much more into the game this spring.
Keeneland

Up close with the ponies! Sarah loved watching them when they raced by.

A Saturday morning tradition at Keeneland is breakfast with the works. It is an opportunity to see the horses train in the morning before racing begins and they have children's activities as well. It was a dreary Saturday morning but those horses are so beautiful to watch.

Simon and Joseph went fishing on Friday afternoon. Simon managed to catch about 8 fish. He is very proud.
