Halloween fun

What a busy and fun weekend. Simon and Sarah had a party at school on Friday with each of their classes. We then had our annual Halloween party at our house. Then, of course, trick or treating on Sunday.

Field trip to the pumpkin patch

Our carpooling buddy Anna!

Today Sarah and I went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch with St. Peter and Paul preschool classes. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed our special Mommy and daughter time.

Our Cub Scout

Simon is thrilled to be starting Cub Scouts this year. He has already been on his first camp out and his uniform finally was ready last week.

It is in their blood

While we were having dinner, Joseph and I were talking about the VA medical system. Simon asked what the VA was. I told him it was for veterans and their families like his Grandma and my brother David. He said, yeah because David almost got his leg blown off. I said yeah, it is very sad that it happened. He said, "what do expect, it is war. Did you want them to throw flowers and say kissy kissy." I think we have another generation heading into the army...

First day of school!

Today was Simon and Sarah's first day of school. Simon started first grade and Sarah started preschool at St. Peter and Paul School.

Sarah fit right in with her class
dressed and ready bright and early!

Sarah was super helpful with the gift bags I made for the early childhood campus parents. We called the morning "Cheers and Tears" and gave each parent a note of encouragement from the PTO, a poem about first day of kindergarten, hugs and kisses candy and a pack of tissues. It was a big hit with the parents.
