I think if we let her, Sarah would brush her teeth all day. Some of the biggest fits she has thrown is when we take the toothbrush away.

a little behind
I am a little behind on posting to the blog. It was a busy week getting used to the school routine. Also, I am coaching Simon's soccer team this season and we had our first practice this week. I had to review some videos on how in the world to coach eight five year olds.
Here are a few new pictures.

Very EXCITED!!
With great enthusiasm, I am so pleased to announce that my sister is PREGNANT...WITH TWINS. Many of you may know, that it has been a seven year battle of infertility for her and her husband. She is just over 12 weeks pregnant now and absolutely ecstatic. She assures me that her blog will start soon. Stay tuned to http://www.rattpak09.blogspot.com/
Please keep her, Shane, and those precious babies in your prayers.

First day of school!
Today was Simon's first day at St. Peter and Paul school in PK-4 and Sarah's first day at Child Development Center. Simon did just ok. I think he was testing his boundaries a bit with his new teacher. She said he could quickly be redirected but I hope tomorrow is better... boy am I glad he is not in kindergarten.
Sarah did amazing. You would have thought she had been going there for six months! She is in the same classroom that Simon was in when he first started there. Two of the four teachers are the same that Simon had.
After 1 1/2 weeks off with kids, it is back to work tomorrow for me. :-(

Mission accomplished!
Sarah and Simon spying on the meerkats.I did what a few months ago I would have told you was impossible. Simon, Sarah, and I journeyed in the car to Melissa and Shane's house. Joseph could not join us due to his soccer coaching commitments. We left Sunday morning and returned last night and had a GREAT time. Simon and Sarah were perfect in the car both ways. Thank God for the DVD player.
Monday Simon and I went to Legoland-Chicago which just opened last week. It was really neat but COMPLETELY overpriced. We had to wait in line for about 1 hour to get in but Simon did really enjoy it. http://www.legolanddiscoverycentre.de/chicago/us
Tuesday began with a shopping trip to IKEA. I was on a mission to find Simon a desk. IKEA has a kids area that you can drop your preschool age kids off at for supervised fun while you shop. Simon and I agreed that many more stores need to do this. We also enjoyed an afternoon at the local public pool.
Wednesday was a trip to the Brookfield Zoo. It had been several years since I had been there and it was better than I remember it. Simon served as our tour guide. (He loves places that have picture maps). He told us where to go and what we should see next. Sarah enjoyed the zoo as well. He favorite part was the exhibit of newborn meerkats. She could have stayed there all day, I think.
Thanks again to Melissa and Shane for the terrific hospitality. We miss you guys already!

The end and the beginning
Friday was tough day. It was Simon's last day at Child Development Center of the Bluegrass. It was very hard for us. He has been there since he was 22 months old. Friday was also Sarah last day with her babysitter Alma. She will be starting on August 13th at Child Development Center which is the same day Simon with start pre-K 4 at St. Peter and Paul School.
Simon overcame our sadness with a trip to Target today to buy school supplies for his new school. We both had a great time picking out everything.
